On March 2014, the HTC One M8 was introduced as the smartphone that was “crafted to perform.” The Apple iPhone 6, which was released a little over a month ago, was the tech titan’s first take on full-sized handsets. How will the two compare?

HTC One M8

Weighing in at 160 grams, the HTC handset comes in a brushed metal exterior, boasting a bigger 5-inch screen enveloped in its 9.35-mm body. The Apple flagship is remarkably thinner and lighter with a glass and metal build sizing up to 129 grams on top of an impressively slim 6.9-mm body.

In the display department, the two are matched. Both promise crisp and sharp details with capacities in line with their screen sizes. HTC One M8 boasts 1080 x 1920 screen resolution paired with 441 ppi pixel density. It is a tad better than iPhone 6′s 750 x 1334 pixel resolution and 326 ppi. However, the Apple phone sports the most coveted Retina HD display and an “oleophobic” coating, making it resistant to oily fingerprints and scratches. This is the feature that lets the iPhone 6 pound its rival to dust.
